Economic Incentives – Flexible LeaseThe Community Reuse Organization of East Tennessee (CROET) was created to move the Oak Ridge Complex's resources toward private management quickly and efficiently. The organization leases the federally owned properties and subleases them to private industry on your timetable. Conditions and terms favorable to you include:
- bartering arrangements
- trading for such services as reclamation and decontamination and decommissioning
- providing short-term markets for recycled materials
- traditional leases
Of course, you can propose a business arrangement that may not have been considered before. The possibilities are limitless, and creative proposals are welcome.
As a right-to-work state, Tennessee provides further incentives to locating at the Oak Ridge Complex. According to the Tennessee Economic Development Guide 1996-1997, these incentives include:
- tax credits, exemptions, and reductions
- financing incentives
- accelerated depreciation of machinery and equipment
