Materials and Chemistry Laboratory

This applied research laboratory serves private industry, university, and federal clients.
Materials and Chemistry Laboratory, Inc. opened for business in April 1998 when an employee group commercialized the K-1006 laboratory, which was no longer practical to operate as a government facility.

MCLinc:
  • Provides materials characterization, forensic testing, treatability studies, metals speciation, risk assessment, and chemical systems development and optimization
  • Leases 25,000 sq. ft. in the Building K-1006 Development Laboratory
  • Is able to work with hazardous, radioactive, and classified materials
  • Completed decontamination and removal of hoods and asbestos remediation in general use areas of the building as part of its lease agreement

MCLinc offers an experienced employee-owner staff along with a unique and powerful collection of materials. Their advanced instrumentation includes:

  • Scanning electron microscopy
  • Scanning transmission electron microscopy
  • Transmission electron microscopy
  • Energy and wavelength dispersive x-ray spectroscopy
  • X-ray diffraction
  • X-ray fluorescence
  • X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy
  • Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy

MCLinc has large chamber, atmospheric pressure, and ultra-high resolution scanning electron microscopes for complex samples, and offers many other specialized testing and technology demonstration capabilities. The fusion of instrumental, laboratory and personnel resources offers a wide range of lab-to-bench-to-pilot scale studies to support technology development, testing and evaluation, and forensic investigations
