TurbX

TurbX develops technologies including software programs, sensors used in military aircrafts, railway braking systems, oil well drilling heads, and laser diode scanners. TurbX also forms partnerships that move these patent-protected technologies into the market place.
The diverse team at TurbX is currently producing such projects as the TurbX engine and the GenX generator. The TurbX engine offers higher efficiency, reduced leakage losses, and reduced material problems than current turbine technology. The GenX generator is a permanent magnet generator that is smaller and lighter than conventional generators. It provides more efficient manufacturing by reducing maintenance requirements, while increasing operational life and versatility.

TurbX is leasing 2,000 square feet at ETTP and choose the location because of the site’s security and available resources. Because their products are market sensitive, a secure location was critical. And as part of their lease agreement, TurbX has benefited from valuable surplus equipment available at ETTP that is useful in their production.

TurbX has partnered with ORNL and the National Transportation Research Center to design products and ensure their product’s viability and market success. NASA and the U.S. Department of Energy have reviewed the TurbX engine design and agree with its feasibility.
